Desiderio Alberto Arnaz In Acha the Third was born in Santiago, Cuba second March 1917. His father was mayor of Santiago. 1933 revolution led by Fulgencio Batista landed her father in prison and stripped of his family fortune, wealth and power. His father was released since intercession of U.S. officials, who believed him to be neutral during the revolt. The family fled to Miami, Florida. One of the first places Desi in America consisted of cleaning canary cages. But after a small form his own band, he was hired by Xavier Cugat, the "King" of Latin music. Desi soon left Cugat, formed his own band and virtually launched Latin conga madness in America. he was cast in the Broadway play "Too Many Girls," which led to him being brought to Hollywood to film versions of the game. It was the scene of many girls (1940), he and Lucille Ball met. They soon married, and about ten years later formed Desilu Productions and began the "I Love Lucy" (1951) shows. Desi and Lucille had two children, Lucie Arnaz and Desi Arnaz Jr.. At the end of "I Love Lucy" (1951), running (including "The Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour" (1957)) divorced two. Desi later wrote an autobiography called "book". In 1986 he was diagnosed with lung cancer and the second died December 1986.
